Collier Youth Services operates two residential programsCollier Group Home in Red Bank and Collier House in Keyportdedicated to supporting vulnerable youth through trauma-informed care and transitional housing. Collier Group Home serves teenage girls, preparing them to successfully return to their families or transition to independent living, while... Collier House helps young women move from dependent living situations or homelessness toward self-sufficient, healthy lives. For the past five years, both programs have implemented and integrated the Sanctuary Model, a trauma-informed care framework developed by the Sanctuary Institute, a division of ANDRUS, into their daily operations and clinical programming. The Sanctuary Model equips Collier Youth Services staff with evidence-based tools to foster emotional awareness and behavioral mindfulness, enabling the organization to effectively address the complex needs of its residents. Through this approach, the young women served gain insight into their past trauma and understand how it shapes their behavioral patterns, empowering them to make informed choices about breaking cycles of repeated trauma and building healthier futures. This foundational awareness becomes a lifelong resource for residents as they navigate independence and recovery. Collier Youth Services has demonstrated strong community support and partnership, including a $10,000 grant from The Provident Bank Foundation to enhance trauma management resources within its residential programs. These partnerships underscore the organization's commitment to delivering significant, positive quality care while sending a powerful message to residents that their community is invested in their success.
