Capital Club 16 has been a community restaurant and gathering place for close to ten years. CC16 is a traditional American restaurant with European influences offering straight forward, scratch made meals inspired by classic dishes and time tested family recipes, using local and seasonal ingredients. We are located in the historic Capital Club Buil... ding at 16 West Martin street in downtown Raleigh. Established in 1929, the building was home to a social and literary club. Capital Club 16's décor is inspired by our building's history. The restaurant's chairs are from NYC's Horn & Hardart automat in Times Square. The bar and backbar are handmade out of reclaimed wood from another one of Manhattan's landmarks in the heart of Union Square - Luchow's restaurant, open for 100 years, from 1882-1982. The bar top and tables are milled from old growth heart pine reclaimed from 19th century Neuse River docks. We're locally owned by husband and wife Jake and Shannon Wolf. Chef/Proprietor Jake is from a family of cooks. His early experience includes working in the family restaurant Lobos (Wolf's in Spanish) in Connecticut and the Pinehurst Member's Club in North Carolina. Jake attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and then has worked in restaurants in Atlanta ,Telluride, Germany, Boston and New York City.
