Weather forecast provided by weather.gov. The March 11th COVID Map for Washington County is still in the Orange-2 Category. This week we averaged 26.9 positive cases per 100,000 people. This is down from the previous week of 27.4. Currently, there are no Red counties in the state and only 6 Orange-2 counties. Unfortunately, we are still one of them. 44 of our staff members have already received the first round of the vaccine. Some have already begun receiving their booster shot, and the rest will get their booster soon. With the numbers dropping and staff receiving vaccinations, I have been getting questions about masks at school. As long as our numbers stay in the orange category, we will continue to wear masks at school. If we can get the numbers down into the yellow category, I don't mind asking the board to amend the Return to Learn plan for the remainder of the year. The earliest that this could occur would be April 12th. I am hopeful that we can continue to reduce our number of positive cases. Next week is spring break.
