Brookside Community Church

The Brookside Community Youth Program, Inc., is a 501(c)3, faith based organization that provides educational, recreational, spiritual, social and cultural activities for children five days a week in the highest "at risk" area of Indianapolis. It is one of the largest programs of its kind in Indianapolis, with over 140 children registered. In an ar... ea with the highest drop out rate in the city of Indianapolis, Brookside has seen over 25 of its participating children obtain a college education. Unlike most programs of its kind, it is one of the few that is offered free of charge. Founded in September of 1990, the program has expanded over the years. The program now offers a wide range of social, cultural, educational, recreational and athletic activities for all children and youth aged 6 to 16 without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, national origin or disability. The program offers an after school regiment during the school year from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and a ten-week summer program, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; thus, the program operates virtually year-round.Read More
