Boxing Fit

Multiple Golden Gloves champion Freddy Frye, a San Diego native, first opened Boxing Fit in 2015 in Cross Lanes WV, but needing more space, he moved into a larger facility in Nitro WV. He started out in a room that was 20 x 20 ft. running 135 to 150 members out of that small space. We have sold our first franchise and it is located in Hurricane WV.... We have now opened our second location in Charleston WV. Here at Boxing Fit we like to concentrate on a cardio type boxing circuit. Clients engage in a variety of exercises that result in excellent cardiovascular conditioning and strength training. The workouts are high calorie burning and you can blast up to 1,000 calories in just under an hour. A typical boxing circuit includes combinations on the mitts, jumping rope, heavy bag, speed bag and a combination of calisthenics and strength training. It is a circuit style workout. Although Boxing Fit incorporates the skills and workouts common to boxers, there is no sparring involved. Instead hand mitts are used and the clients will do various punch combinations called out by the trainer. This is great for improving hand eye coordination, foot work and reflexes. This is a workout enjoyed by many and is great for all members of your family. Kid's classes are also offered. Our thought behind this is not to necessarily have them become boxers, but so they can protect themselves. We want them to learn the proper technique and get a good cardiovascular workout. Working with the kids is one the most rewarding parts of our day. This is a great activity for team building within a work place or team sport. It is an excellent way to cross train for any other sport with the skills and techniques Boxing Fit provides. For clients who would like to do some actual sparring, we will set up a separate class for them. This is a great place to get your fitness journey started or elevate it when you have plateaued.
