Dr. Bense performs the first PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) procedure in Atlantic Canada, using cutting-edge VISX 20/20B laser technology (PRK is a forerunner of LASIK). Dr. Bense also performs the first PTK (phototherapeutic keratectomy) procedure in Atlantic Canada. Dr. Bense performs the 1st LASIK procedure in Atlantic Canada. Over the next 15 years the procedure evolves and undergoes several upgrades.
