Ms. Baldi moves to the SF Bay Area and begins working with children diagnosed with ASD. Deanne Detmers, BIA Founder, completes her MA in Special Education and is working as a research assistant with Dr. Bryna Siegel at the UCSF PDD Clinic. Ms. Detmers begins training under Ms. Baldi implementing ABA programs. Most families are paying privately out... of pocket for services. Behavioral Intervention Association (BIA) is founded as a 501 (c)(3) California Non-Profit. Richard & Ida Demirjian commit $60K to provide seed money for BIA. BIA expands services to Sacramento, California and Monique Bekeschus begins her training with BIA. BIA begins providing services in the United Kingdom and Ireland becoming the first ABA provider in both of these countries. BIAs DVD, Embracing Play, receives a review in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. BIA creates The Clubhouse afterschool social skills group. BIA opens a campus in Fresno, California, which includes an integrated preschool through a generous grant from First 5 California. Ms. Bekeschus becomes the Clinical Director of the Fresno services. BIA produces its 2nd video, Passport To Friendship. BIA begins serving children in the Salinas/Monterey areas and opens a clinic in downtown Monterey. BIA celebrates its 25th Anniversary providing services to families affected by Autism.Read More
