The very first Age UK Business Directory was launched in Nottingham & Nottinghamshire in 2008. The service was designed with older people in mind, to offer peace of mind to them, their carers and family members, but the service can be accessed by anyone who needs to be connected with a local reputable trader or business. The Business Directory in L... ondon was initially delivered by Age UK London but is now under new management (April 2020) and run by the Age UK Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Business Directory Team. The Directory operates throughout London but not all Age UK London Boroughs are participating. The service can be accessed anytime online or by using the Freephone number 0800 334 5056 during office hours. In order to ensure that the Business Directory only lists reputable traders and businesses we thoroughly check all of our member companies before they join the scheme. This checking process consists of: A check that the trader or business has appropriate and adequate insurance. Writing to previous customers and suppliers to check they have a history of reliable trading. To search for a type of trader or business type a keyword or a type of trade into the search box which says Enter the Trade you are looking for. When you start typing, a list of possible trades will appear below, click on the appropriate one. Once you have done this, type your full postcode into the search box, which says Your postcode and then hit the search button. This will generate a list of relevant traders and business in distance order, stating how many miles they are away from the postcode you entered.
