ASSAN PORT was opened for service at the end of 2010 by Assan Port Operations Inc., a company of Kibar Holding. As the first container terminal in the Bay of Iskenderun serving modern container vessels since its opening, ASSAN PORT has become the second major alternative for the same hinterland after the Port of Mersin. The terminal, with its current annual capacity of 250,000 TEU, aims to reach a capacity of 550,000 TEU in 2016 with the investments it will make. ASSAN PORT Iskenderun was established by KIBAR HOLDING company, ASSAN PORT OPERATOR INC. at the end of 2010. As the first container terminal in the Bay of Iskenderun serving modern container vessels, Assan Port Iskenderun has become the second major alternative for the same hinterland after the Port of Mersin.
