During the early 1900s concern had been raised by medical professionals stating that the deaths of asbestos workers through respiratory diseases were caused by their exposure to asbestos. By the 1930s there was already a substantial scientific knowledge concerning asbestos and its related diseases. Diseases related to asbestos are generally associated with inhaling the mineral over a extended period of time.
