Whitfill Nursery Employee Directory

Whitfill Nursery is a family-owned and operated plant and tree farm based in Phoenix, Arizona, serving the desert Southwest's gardening and landscaping needs for over six decades. Founded in 1928 by Leslie E. Whitfill and his wife Floris, the nursery evolved from a citrus tree business established on Glendale Avenue in 1943 into a full-time operati... on that expanded to multiple locations throughout the region. The company is recognized for its locally-grown line of plants and deep horticultural expertise specific to desert Southwest conditions, positioning it as a trusted resource for both residential and commercial landscaping projects. Under the current ownership of Brian Blake, who assumed full control in 1979 and continues the grower tradition established by his grandfather, Whitfill Nursery maintains its commitment to direct customer relationships and quality plant cultivation. The business reflects a multi-generational dedication to customer service, with family members and long-tenured staff contributing to operational continuity and institutional knowledge that spans more than sixty years. Whitfill Nursery's competitive advantages include its grower-direct model, which eliminates intermediaries and allows for personalized service and plant selection tailored to local growing conditions, combined with the horticultural expertise developed through decades of hands-on experience in Arizona's unique climate. The nursery's longevity and reputation in the Phoenix market demonstrate its ability to adapt and thrive while maintaining the core values of quality, customer focus, and botanical stewardship that have defined the business since its inception. Today, Whitfill Nursery continues to serve Arizona residents and landscaping professionals seeking locally-sourced plants and expert guidance for creating and maintaining gardens and landscapes in the desert Southwest.Read More
