Security Central was founded in 1963 by the husband-and-wife duo of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Brown. After completing his military service, Brown wanted a way to continue protecting people and what they value most. He quickly recognized the need for patrol services within his local community. In the early years of Security Central, Brown performed guar... d style services checking secondary homes and business surrounding the newly established Lake Norman. As technology began to enter the industry, he saw an opportunity to learn how to install, service and sell burglar alarms. Transitioning away from the guard service, Brown quickly became the solution for home security in the piedmont region of North Carolina. Shortly after, police departments became inundated with false alarm calls. Brown saw an opportunity and began an answering service. Fast forward to today, Security Central is one of the largest wholesale monitoring facilities operating nationwide, Canada and surrounding U.S. territories.
