As Christians, we draw our beliefs from the Bible , which we believe to be God's inspired message to every person. It contains the truth about who God the Father, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit are - one God in three persons who are constantly in loving relationship and harmonious cooperation with each other. It teaches us that God is all-knowing, ever-present, all-powerful and perfect in love. The Bible teaches us that we, on the other hand, are not perfect and that we are all in need of forgiveness for our choices that do not please God. Every choice we make that is not perfect in love we call sin and the result of sin is spiritual death and separation from God. The Bible teaches us that Jesus, the Son of God, although he is God and has existed eternally, was born as a human being and lived a human life - the only human life lived entirely free of sin. As an adult, he taught about God's will, how to live a life defined by love, and that salvation from sin could only be found by believing in him. Then Jesus was arrested and executed by being nailed to a wooden cross and he died. He allowed this to happen to him so that his sacrifice would pay the price for our sin. Then three days later, he rose to new life, overcoming the power of death itself.
