Peer Assistance Services, Inc. is a Colorado 501(c)(3) non-profit agency dedicated to quality, accessible prevention and intervention services in workplaces and communities, focused on substance use and related issues. PAS was founded in 1984 with $300 in start-up funds from the Colorado Nurses Association to serve nurses with substance abuse issues. Over the past 30 years PAS has expanded its operating budget to $9 million. Services have been expanded to include intervention with a wider range of licensed health care professionals including dentists, pharmacists, and veterinarians, other at-risk working adults and offenders in reentry from incarceration. PAS has also expanded services to include substance abuse prevention programming with strategies aimed at at-risk populations.
