North County Fire / EMS is comprised of five fire stations. The Department service area is approximately 110 square miles with an estimated population of over 24,000 residents. There are 23 career firefighters and approximately another 45 to 50 volunteer firefighters that help make up the core of the Department. North County Fire / EMS provides a variety of emergency services including: Fire Suppression Water Rescue ALS/BLS Emergency Medical Services and Transport Hazardous Materials Response Public Information and Education District Map Each day the company's Department operates with 11 to 12 employees strategically positioned at four fire stations (the fifth station is a volunteer only station). within the 110 square mile the company serves. The company's Departments emergency response system utilizes a combination of both career and volunteer personnel. This deployment model provides the most effective delivery of personnel and equipment to ensure that patient care, firefighting and any other emergencies are responded to and mitigated in the least amount of time. North County Fire / EMS is committed to ensure when the need arises, the company's personnel are highly trained, dedicated, and professional with well equipped Fire and Emergency Medical Service apparatus equipped with life saving instruments. In 2015, North County Fire / EMS responded to 4200 incidents. Like most fire departments the majority of those calls where medical emergencies. The department has one 40-hour Battalion Chief responsible for predominately training. Three station Captains and six Lieutenants with each assisting with specific aspects.
