UNDERSTANDING SEX ADDICTION I mean...Is this REALLY even a THING? For many people Sex Addiction just sounds like an excuse. Arent they just a cheating bastard? When we think about addiction our minds recall drug or alcohol addiction. Sex addiction is not like this. When a person is addicted to drugs or alcohol then the answer is abstinence. Avoidin... g any drugs or alcohol at all. The goal of Sex Addiction healing is not abstinence...the goal is to be healthy and be able to enjoy a fulfilling normal sexual life with ones partner. It is to learn to eat in a healthy and moderate way that doesnt destroy your body and allows you to enjoy the rest of your life. The goal is to get your appetites under control. A sex addict is simply someone who is morbidly obese when it comes to sexuality. Except our sexual appetites and actions dont just impact ourselves. They affect those we love the most.
