Serving the Tulsa area community for more than 30 years, we are proud to be the only United Way supported, multi-cultural, multi-faith, non-profit hospice in the area. We are also the oldest hospice in northeastern Oklahoma. Hospice of Green Country was established in 1985 by a grassroots effort among area physicians, social workers, nurses, commun... ity leaders, funders and volunteers to provide community-based, non-profit hospice care to northeastern Oklahoma. After almost two years of fundraising and gaining community support, the first patient was admitted to Hospice of Green Country on September 13, 1987. A significant number of the patients we serve continue to be those who do not qualify for Medicare and have no private insurance covering hospice services. Since our inception, Hospice of Green Country has provided hospice care to thousands of terminally ill patients. Additionally, we have served thousands more family members and individuals throughout northeastern Oklahoma with respite care, caregiver assistance and grief-related services. Hospice of Green Country remains committed to promoting care and comfort for patients and their families facing a terminal illness regardless of ability to pay. Hospice of Green Countrys cost-effective care includes medical directors, nurses, social service professionals, chaplains, hospice aides and specially trained volunteers who together provide a very personal plan of care for each patient and family. Our professional staff is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and works with patients, families, physicians and other health care professionals in developing the best treatment plan to manage pain and to control symptoms associated with a patients illness. We also focus on a patients spiritual and emotional needs. Hospice of Green Country is licensed by the State of Oklahoma and is certified by Medicare. Hospice of Green Country is also certified by the Oklahoma DHS ADvantage program and partners with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to provide hospice services.Read More
