Hither Employee Directory

Hello! I'm Angelique, thank you for visiting my site. Originally from New Zealand, I am freelance designer and maker of handmade objects based on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW, Australia. I have an artistic mother and engineer father, and growing up spent many hours exploring and sketching the natural surroundings in New Zealand. Early on I be... came captivated with the photographs of Karl Blossfeld, and my appreciation for the sculptural engineering of botanical forms began to develop. I graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland and practised within a boutique firm before moving to Australia. I then worked on a broad range of projects both in Australia and China prior to becoming a Retail Design Manager. Throughout my career of varied design roles, I have always maintained a keen interest in artistic projects, painting, sculpting, silver jewellery, screen printing and graphic design. I offer freelance services in Interior Design and Design Management through my hither consulting business. I love to spend time with my husband, beautiful children and our beagle, watch the ocean, wander amongst the cows on my family farm, drink fruit tea, play bower bird with all manner of found objects. I am continually inspired by the perfect engineering and intricate design of our natural environment. Hither simply means "here" or "to this place"... to me it talks about the journey I've been on and it is also about the nostalgia that the native flora and fauna can evoke. Hither was born from a love of design and the natural environment. It celebrates the deep connection people have with places. I have always felt a strong bond with the native flora and fauna, firstly in New Zealand during my early years then later in the varied landscapes that life has taken me to. The standout for me has always been the perfect engineering and masterful detailing created in nature. My fondness for the unique Australian native landscape has developed over the 15 years I have lived here. ...Read More
