Greene's Beans focuses on roasting single origin coffees. Our intention is to roast each coffee to its optimal level, allowing it to display its unique "gout de terroir" - distinctive cup characteristics imparted by the local soil, elevation and climate in combination with the coffee varietal(s) grown and processed there. Normally we produce a 'cit... y roast' style - in the medium brown color range. Greene's Beans got its start back in 1995, when Brian Green brought his specialty grade coffee roasts to Sparta! Dave had wanted to start up a business for almost 40 years, and when Brian sold his house in Florida, he and Dave started up the café. Brian was specially trained in the art of coffee bean roasting, working with a mentor at Cooked Corner, taught by the manufacturer of Detrick Roasters, who also provided the certification. Dallas Brothers coffee roasting in Queens also certified our roasting skills, and we get plenty of chances to practice this great art! Both Brian and Dave's wives work at Greene's Beans as well, making this a close-knit, family-operated business. We operate two full cafés, in Sparta and Hackettstown, as well as a kiosk at the Taylor Library at Centenary College in Hackettstown. In all of our locations, we work to create a comfortable, home-like atmosphere where can relax, drink, and think. Whether you want to enjoy a cup of fresh-roasted coffee or tea in our café, or grab a quick cup to go, we make it our mission to meet your needs. We serve a variety of simple and flavor-filled coffee and espresso drinks, including cappuccinos, lattes, nitro coffee, cold-brews, and more! We are constantly changing our menu to meet the changing needs of our café in New Jersey, but we love our classics a well. In addition to our "bean" options, we offer premium grade loose leaf tea with no processing-we buy in small batches so your drink is always fresh!
