Grace Church Employee Directory

We are not a perfect church. We are a broken people in need of grace, but we serve a perfect and loving Saviour who is the head of this church. As we work to follow him and share his heart for our community, we strongly hold to the values of... Christianity is not about what we do for God. It's about what Christ has done for us - and is still doing... in us! By faith, we receive a new identity and are remade in His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. As a church, we centre all we do on this good news - the gospel. The gospel creates a community of people called the church. We live out our new identity in Christ as adopted sons and daughters; a family. The church is made up of disciples (of Jesus followers) who are growing in grace by the power of the Spirit through the teaching of God's word. We are not here for ourselves, but for others. As God's redeemed people, we are sent on mission to make more disciples while eagerly awaiting the day when Jesus will return to make all things new. Maybe you want to know more. Maybe words like 'disciple' or 'mission' seem a bit odd or old fashioned. While we feel these words capture the biblical basis of our church, you may want to chat about it in simpler terms - or maybe you want to go deeper. Whatever the reason, if you would like to find out more about Grace Church, Pastor Peter Somervell and his wife Francelle host Pastor's Coffee - a casual chance to ask any questions and get to know some of our church family. Email francelle@gracechurch.co.nz to register your interest in our next coffee night.Read More
