Endeavour provides challenge and inspiration to young people excluded from society across the UK. Through a range of targeted programmes it helps them take control of their future, to set and achieve their goals. Every young person can have a worthwhile future, whatever their past. Endeavour provides that missing support and challenges young people... to conquer their fears. We help them build self confidence and self esteem. Young people learn how to express themselves and how to trust and respect others. Endeavour is a small, national educational charity working at grass roots with some of the most disadvantaged and disaffected young people across England. Ours is a hard-working, passionate and effective organisation providing personal and social development programmes for young people who are getting few or no opportunities to reach their potential. We work with those that have been left out by society, to help them find their way back in. In this country, there are more than a million young people who are not in education, employment or training, and these young people are being asked to take a disproportionate share of the burden of the recession. We know that about 17% of these young people also have to struggle with a wide range of social, family and personal problems with little or no support. Endeavour's aim is to give these young people a chance to tackle their problems, and to succeed. What do we do? We work in schools to remotivate pupils who can't cope with formal school structures. We provide full time education in two schools of our own for young people who have not been given a mainstream school place. We work with unemployed 16-19 year olds in community projects to improve their chance of progressing into a job or into further education. We work with young offenders to resettle them into a community and enable them to go straight.
