What does Cabot House do?

Cabot House is one of the largest furniture retailers in the industry, with east coast locations from Maine to Florida. Robert Bendetson is the 4th generation who continues a strong family tradition of quality, service and value in fine home furnishings. In 1912 Roberts's great-grandfather opened a small furniture store in Haverhill, Massachusetts.... His son William and William's wife Rose worked in the store for several years before opening their own retail furniture store known as Boston Furniture Company. Their son Norris worked with his parents at the family's store until he was called to serve in World War II. When he returned from the service he assumed the full responsibility of managing Boston Furniture Company. In 1971 Norris expanded the business with additional locations to accommodate a growing customer base. The new locations were known as Cabot House. While growing up Norris's son Robert (Bobby) spent a lot of time working with his father learning various aspects of the furniture business. In 1977 when Robert (Bobby) received his MBA from Harvard Business School, he officially joined the family business. He worked closely with his father until Norris's death in April1995. Since then the Cabot House family has grown to 9 Cabot House Stores, 2 Ethan Allen Stores, 1 Baker Store, 6 Thomasville Stores and 2 Drexel Heritage Stores. Cabot House and the distinctive name brand furniture manufacturers the company represent offer the finest quality and value in home furnishings including Living Rooms, Dining Rooms, Bedrooms, Home Theater and Entertainment Centers, Home Office and Outdoor Patio Furniture.
