The Brisbane School District Education and Support Team (BEST/PTO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1992 that serves as the primary community-based volunteer and fundraising arm for the Brisbane School District. Operating across all three schools within the district, BEST/PTO works in close partnership with the School District's... Board of Trustees and maintains a foundation board composed of district parents and staff to align fundraising and organizing efforts with the educational priorities identified by school leadership. The organization is dedicated to supplementing district resources through targeted fundraising initiatives that support critical educational programs, including library aide services that keep school libraries operational, instructional aides and materials throughout the district, and enrichment offerings such as educational assemblies, field trips, and parent educational presentations. Individual school site presidents organize fundraisers and community-building activities while coordinating parent volunteer efforts across the three schools, with a strong emphasis on strengthening district community through inclusive communication and engagement. As a fully volunteer-driven nonprofit, BEST/PTO operates with minimal overhead, paying no salaries and maintaining exceptionally low operating expenses through a single annual fundraiser dedicated to covering administrative costs, which represents a negligible percentage of total fundraising. This operational model ensures that the vast majority of funds raised directly support student and educational outcomes. The organization actively seeks community participation and maintains transparent communication channels through school-based BEST/PTO presidents, inviting parents and staff to contribute their time and talents to advancing the Brisbane School District's educational mission.Read More
