Bedford School is an independent boarding and day school for boys aged 7 to 18 years, where fundamental traditions combine with innovative educational thinking. In addition to an established reputation for academic excellence, we are renowned for our strengths in music, the arts and sport. Situated on an extensive parkland estate of 40 acres in the... heart of Bedford, the school is a lively community of day boys, weekly and full boarders. Our highly qualified teaching staff are selected on their ability to communicate and inspire. The result is a vibrant, stimulating environment, were boys can be happy, grow in self-confidence, thrive academically and make the most of the wide range of opportunities on offer. Our broad curriculum offers boys a varied choice of subjects, and our academic success is demonstrated by a long history of impressive examination results at GCSE, A level, and in the International Baccalaureate Diploma. We also offer an impressive range of extracurricular activities with over 80 clubs and societies. Our Music School is one of the largest in the country and has a full programme of concerts and performances throughout the year. Facilities are virtually unrivalled and include a recreation centre with theatre, large sports hall, squash courts, fitness centre and a 25-metre indoor swimming pool; twin Astroturf pitches; an observatory and planetarium and an impressive library.
