The American Friends of the Israel Museum (AFIM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting The Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Situated on a serene 20-acre campus, the Israel Museum is home to the worlds most extensive collection of art and Holy Land archaeology, and includes the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest surviving biblical manuscript. From... prehistory to the present, from Africa to Asia to the Americas, the Museum contains an encyclopedic collection of nearly 500,000 pieces. Since the company's inception in 1972, AFIM has raised over $435 million for the Museums exhibitions, art acquisitions, educational and outreach programs, curator training, and more. As an early supporter of the Museum, AFIMs pioneering model has spurred the creation of similar organizations in 16 countries. Beyond financial support, AFIM inspires collectors and raises awareness of the Museum with special exhibitions, gallery visits, studio tours, concerts, gatherings, and other events. Through these efforts, AFIM has helped create a global network of individuals committed to supporting Jerusalems Israel Museum.Read More
