Owners Bill and Barbara Spencer have maintained organic registration with the State of California since 1993 and C.C.O.F. certification since August 1999. The farm is known for its specialty varieties, including heirloom tomatoes and potatoes, and supplies produce to restaurants and farmers' markets. In 1998, Windrose expanded its offerings by planting 40 different varieties of apples, collaborating with Sonoma Antique Apples.
