What is Vision?
Vision operates a free, hands-on fashion program for urban youth aged 12-15, based in San Francisco's Bayview District. Founded and managed by wardrobe stylist Traci Peace Greco, the program, which celebrated eleven years of success in June 2015, aims to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the fashion industry. Curriculum includes sewing and design, fashion illustration, merchandising, public relations, and introductory Italian and French, preparing students for global fashion centers like Paris, Milan, and New York City. The program has facilitated invaluable experiences, including a fashion field trip to New York in September 2008 where students interned backstage during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week - Spring 2009, courtesy of TEEN VOGUE Magazine and designer Tracy Reese. The program's success has been significantly supported by contributions from individuals like Mrs. Denise Hale, referred to as the program's "Fairy Godmother."
