What is Love's Bakery?
Founded in 1851 by Robert Love, Love's Bakery is a historic Hawaiian baking institution with a legacy spanning over 170 years. Initially focused on re-baking ship provisions and hardtack biscuits, the company evolved into a wholesale-only operation by 1932. After several ownership changes, including periods under ITT Continental Baking Company and First Baking Company of Japan, management brought ownership back to Hawaii in 2008. Today, Love's Bakery produces more than 200 varieties of bread and buns and also distributes products from other well-known brands. The company is a significant contributor to local communities through its charitable bread donations.
