What is Leo Dehon Library?
Leo Dehon Library, associated with Sacred Heart Seminary, has evolved from a modest collection of 20 shelves to house nearly 100,000 items. Beyond supporting priestly formation, it extends its resources to registered patrons from the wider community, catering to personal, pastoral, and academic needs. The library maintains a strong emphasis on theological and scriptural materials, complemented by a balanced general collection featuring strengths in philosophy, church history, social justice, canon law, and the Mozarabic Rite. It actively subscribes to over 300 periodicals, indexed in major theological and scriptural databases, and offers a substantial collection of audiovisual materials. Internet and wireless access are available, alongside specialized equipment for visually impaired patrons. As a member of the Southeastern Wisconsin Information Technology Exchange (SWITCH) consortium, Leo Dehon Library provides its patrons access to nearly 1 million items from seven other academic institutions, facilitating inter-library loans and enhancing research capabilities.
