What is Casa Q?
Casa Q is dedicated to providing safe living options and comprehensive services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, as well as allies, who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. National studies indicate that a disproportionate number of homeless youth, estimated between 20% and 40%, identify as LGBTQ, largely due to family rejection. These young individuals face heightened risks, including higher rates of sexual victimization, school dropout, mental health issues, and substance use. Casa Q addresses these urgent needs within the greater Albuquerque metro area and throughout New Mexico, offering a vital support system for a vulnerable population.

What's next for Casa Q?
With the recent influx of substantial expansion capital, Casa Q is poised to significantly scale its operations and deepen its impact. This strategic investment will likely fuel the enhancement of existing programs, the expansion of outreach services to more at-risk youth, and potentially the development of new initiatives to combat homelessness within the LGBTQ community. The organization's trajectory suggests a strong focus on solidifying its position as a leading provider of support and safe housing for LGBTQ homeless youth in New Mexico.
