What is Blocs?
BLOCS operates as the premier need-based scholarship program within the Philadelphia region, dedicated to enabling student success across over 100 Catholic schools. Leveraging donations, Pennsylvania's Tax Credit Program, and an endowment, BLOCS awards scholarships for grade school, high school, and special education to a diverse student population. Since its inception in 1980, BLOCS has been instrumental in supporting tens of thousands of children, particularly those from underserved neighborhoods, by providing access to high-quality, values-based education in Philadelphia-area Catholic schools. The organization's commitment is further evidenced by its ability to grant partial tuition scholarships to more than 16,000 students and raise over $19.5 million in funds during the 2017-2018 school year.
