The National Laboratory of the Rockies, located in Golden, Colorado, is a national laboratory of the United States Department of Energy specializing in energy systems research and development. Formerly known as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory until December 2025, NLR serves as the primary federal laboratory for advancing energy technologies across the entire energy spectrum, from generation to distribution to end use.
