Deep Roots: In 1636, the company that would become Tabacalera Company, and from which todays Tabacalera USA gets its name, was launched in Spain. Premium Cigar Market 2013: Imperial Tobacco Group, after acquiring Altadis in 2008, restored the name Tabacalera to its Premium Cigar Division, maintaining Tabacalera a top leader in the premium cigar market and staying true to its roots. Tabacalera Today : In 2015, Tabacalera USA was formed. The company oversees the premium cigar businesses in the United States, which is the world's largest premium cigar market.
