Founded in 1974 by Lloyd Ross, the company originally specialized in selling first-quality, famous-maker closeout merchandise at deeply discounted prices, typically 50 to 80 percent below original retail prices. Tuesday Morning built its business model around purchasing excess inventory and closeout merchandise from top-name manufacturers, offering a wide range of products including upscale home textiles, home furnishings, housewares, dinnerware, china and crystal, gourmet food products, pet supplies, bath and body products, toys, seasonal decorations, and home decor. At its peak in 2018, Tuesday Morning operated over 700 physical retail locations across the United States. In 2022, Tuesday Morning was acquired by Retail Ecommerce Ventures for 35 million dollars.
