Goldberg's Furniture was established in 1910 as a retail and furniture store on the North side of Syracuse. Today the third and fourth generation of the Goldberg family are at the helm. In 80 years, the first has expanded from one location to four modern furniture stores, with over 230,000 square feet of showrooms in Central New York. It all began when Meyer Goldberg and his son Moses operated a second hand store on North State Street. Another son, Ben, had a jewelry store on North Salina Street. They pooled their business experience and opened a furniture and jewelry store on North Salina Street and M. Goldberg & Sons was born. The Goldbergs, plus one helper, operated the store. Today, Goldberg's has over 125 employees many of them with outstanding long service with the Company. In the beginning, the business was operated within 3,000 square feet of space. Later they occupied five floors and the basement in the building, plus a separate store across the street as an outlet store. Goldberg's is now one of the most successful retail operations in Central New York.
