Yazoo Brewing

In October 2003, Yazoo Brewing opened the doors and began selling kegs of Yazoo Pale Ale, Dos Perros, Spring Wheat, and Onward Stout to local bars and restaurants, quickly gaining an enthusiastic local following. The company's Hefeweizen won a Gold Medal for the Hefeweizen at the 2004 Great American Beer Festival and the company started bottling th... e company's beers in 2005. Other local favorites like the company's Sly Rye Porter and the company's Hop Project rounded out the company's line-up of beers. In 2009, the company managed to brew Tennessee's first ever legal high-gravity ale, Yazoo Sue, after being granted a distillery license. In 2010, the company had outgrown the company's original brewery, and purchased a building for a new brewery in the Gulch, at 910 Division Street. Yazoo beer can now be found throughout Tennessee and Mississippi. The company is also the proud brewers of Gerst beer, reviving a brand that was once a Nashville legend before Prohibition, and the company's Embrace the Funk line of sour and wild ales.
