Yantzi's Feed & Seed Ltd. was founded by the late Laverne Yantzi in 1958 when he started working out of his Tavistock home shop with a Champion mobile feed mill. The present site began operation in 1964 when Laverne purchased land from Zimmerman's Box Factory and constructed the mill. Serving the Agricultural Community was always first and foremost... with Laverne. A combination of hard work and a service oriented team of employees enabled the addition of a fertilizer blender, grain dryer, and elevator. In 1973 a "state of the art" pelleting system was installed to meet the evolving needs of local livestock and poultry producers. The Brunner outlet was purchased in 1990 to expand service in Perth County. Today, Steve Yantzi and his family operate the family business. Steve learned very early the importance of "service and value" as he grew up working in the mill and delivering feed to area farms. Ryan Yantzi, Steve's son, joined the business in 2005 after completing his degree from the University of Guelph and Old's College in Alberta. Yantzi's has continued to grow and modernize their facilities. This includes new batch control equipment, a new grinding system, and a modern fleet of trucks.
