Our foundations in the Yamba community were established in 1983. We acknowledge the foresight and hard work of the successive committees and community to fundraise and build the existing cen... tre. We strive to continue to extend and develop a centre that is worthy of the needs of the community. We believe children are capable, active participants in their own learning and that learning should be fun, stimulating and engaging. Children are respected, challenged, encouraged, praised and every child is capable of success. We believe through secure relationships, children will develop confidence, feel respected, valued and their voices heard. We acknowledge the importance of connection to the natural world as being essential to the child's wellbeing. We aim to provide and promote a sustainable environment underpinned by safety, education, exploration, respect and friendship. We believe that each child and their family are important and unique, recognising that families are the child's first and most influential teachers. Families' beliefs and values will be respected through active communication and collaboration to ensure the child's learning and wellbeing is holistic. Early childhood educators must be engaged, passionate and active participant's in learning alongside children. We believe that as children participate in everyday life they develop interests and construct their own identity and understandings of the world through relationships with families, community, culture and place.
