Wyong Neighbourhood Centre Inc is a Community based not for profit organisation located within the Wyong Shire Local Government area. Operational for over 30 years, the organisation has grown from a "Drop in for Coffee" Community Centre wholly staffed by volunteers to a large multi-functional organisation comprising: The Neighbourhood Centre Commun... ity Development and Outreach Service Kids Club Phoenix Youth Support Service Emergency Relief Funding Financial Counselling Tax Help Art on the Hil Op Shop Eco Community Garden Men's Shed Information and Referral Financial Counselling for Problem Gambling Funding for these projects comes from a variety of sources, including the Department of Community Services, Department of Family and Community Services as well as a range of other Departments, funding bodies, local businesses and service clubs. In addition to this, staff are always looking at avenues of bringing in additional funding for different projects and activities as those opportunities arise. The organisation also receives support from Wyong Shire Council as well as a range of local businesses and service organisations. Well placed with a range of other community support services and organisations, Wyong Neighbourhood Centre Inc. strives to focus on strengths based approaches to community building within target populations and new release areas as well as advocacy for services on behalf of marginalized or isolated communities. The organisation management structure consists of a management committee who oversee all operations of the organisation working closely with the manager who oversees the day to day operations of the organisation. The management committee is made up of a group of ten people from the community who represent a cross-section of related services and organisations, service users, clients and interested community members.
