He was a workers' compensation defense attorney for 12 years with the State Compensation Insurance Fund and in house counsel with American Building Maintenance Industries. He entered private practice in San Rafael, California in 1985 exclusively representing the injured worker before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board. He has handled all types of industrial injury claims, specializing in those involving serious physical injuries. This extensive experience on both sides of a case gives clients the following advantages: As a former defense attorney Leon gained the ability to evaluate a case from the perspective of the insurance carrier, knowing what points are important to them and how to stress them, in order to get the highest value on a case.
