About World Wide

The World Wide Ag Network was conceived by its president, Marlin Bohling, in 1999. Bohling grew up on a family farm on the Kansas-Nebraska border which he operated for 25 years until he turned the operation over to his relatives while choosing to pursue a full time career in farm radio broadcasting and webcasting. His most recent on-air radio broadcasting position involved serving as the Farm Director from 2002 to 2007 for the Southern Farm Network based in Raleigh, NC where he broadcast numerous programs daily through affiliates in North and South Carolina. In the mid-90's, Bohling spent several years serving on the Board of Directors of his local Republic County, Kansas, Farm Bureau where he served as vice-president and also as chairman of the communications and membership committees. It was during this time that he began his farm broadcasting career. It was during this time that he began his farm broadcasting career. For 2-1/2 years, he was solely responsible for the production of a weekly radio program on a local radio station where he gave a 5 minute report on current ag issues along with his own personal style of commentary. The report immediately developed a strong, loyal following. He went on to serve as a volunteer on the state Farm Bureau Membership Committee for Kansas and eventually as its chairman. At this point, he was "discovered" by the new owner of a large AM radio station ("Farm Radio" KFRM 550) in north central Kansas which featured an all ag format. He was hired as its mid-day farm broadcaster and worked full time in that capacity between 1996-1999 as well as continuing his farming operation at home. While working at KFRM, Bohling had the chance to develop an excellent rapport with farmers in a large geographic area of the central and southern plains from southwest Nebraska all the way to northern Texas. He was responsible for delivering the market reports and doing numerous live interviews each day with noted market analysts from around the Midwest and Plains region. He also produced many half-hour programs for the "Ag Technology Today" and "Ag ...Read More
