World Cleaning Services has been incorporated since 1966 with a history that stretches back to 1890. Grandfather, Carl Pedersen, emigrated from Norway early in the 20th Century and was professionally cleaning windows as far back as 1911. He began the legacy of cleaning excellence that continues to this day with the third generation of Pedersens sti... ll running the company. Carl's son, Arthur C. Pedersen, ran General Window Cleaning which was Chicagoland's largest window cleaning service in the 1920s and 30s. He founded World Window Cleaning in 1943, which continues today as an affiliate company of World Cleaning Services. In the early 1950s, Arthur recognized the opportunity for one of the first janitorial services in the Chicago area, which he formed as World Building Maintenance. Arthur's sons - Allen and Carl - run the companies today with Allen serving as President of World Cleaning Services, and Carl as President of World Window Cleaning. Both started in the businesses when they were teenagers - learning from their father how to maintain long term customer relationships through quality work at competitive prices.
