A: Workplace Architects is an outgrowth of Ability Engineering, a consulting practice established in the middle 1980's that delivered communication training and custom software applications to enhance teamwork. We delivered our first SharePoint-based solution in November 2003. In early 2004 we laid out what was needed for developing sophisticated a... pplications in SharePoint using easily configured webparts. We developed and deployed our webparts in production systems in 2004 and 2005. We became a pure product company and changed our name to Workplace Architects, Inc. at the beginning of 2006. Q: Who uses solutions built with your Suite? A: Most of our implementations have been in the enterprise and mid-market. Some of our customers are Wolters Kluwer (a global technical publisher), The Mercury Group (30-plus companies providing services in all aspects of the mortgage industry), Celesio Healthcare Group (European pharmaceutical distribution), and The International Bank of Commerce, in addition to mid-market companies in manufacturing, law, healthcare, distribution, accounting, education, and engineering. Q: Do you change the underlying of SharePoint? A: We do not change the underlying lists or libraries or site definitions of SharePoint. The Suite is fully implemented using the SharePoint Object Model and fully comply with SharePoint security model without running any additional Windows Services.
