In 2004 Kathleen Potts and Lara Moore established Woofables Bakery to provide the highest quality (gourmet) dog treats with the best possible service to dogs and dog lovers everywhere. Since its inception, Woofables has become the competitive standard for handmade dog biscuits in eastern Iowa and the Upper Midwest. The company has served millions o... f dog treats to thousands of pets across the United States and have developed a following of very loyal customers (and their respective masters). The story of Woofables would not be complete if the company didn't mention the founding hounds: Ruby, Lola, and Oscar. These Woofables regulars were the original taste-testers and quality control experts for most of the treats the company continue to serve today, and Ruby remains the iconic inspiration for the logo. In the fall of 2010, economic and professional opportunities called Kathleen and Lara away from Iowa City, so they sold Woofables to Laura (Top Dog) and Alex (Big Dog) Taylor, who have ushered in a new era for Woofables as a family owned business. They are joined by three daughters who help bake, decorate and serve. Their son labels and oversees the production of Trainers, Quacker Crumbs, and Cina-bits. Meanwhile, Tootsie makes herself busy with testing, tasting, quality control, and teaching Max how to politely welcome the company's customers and the company's owners. Julie, the company's Go-to Dog, helps with daily operations. In December 2010, Woofables expanded its internet presence by adding online ordering capabilities and by starting a delivery service to provide regular and convenient options for remote customers and customers on the go.
