Wireless Advantage was founded in Dothan, AL in August 2001 by the current President and CEO, Steve Maddox. WACI initially began under the ALLTEL Flag and quickly became the carriers largest partner in Alabama. At the climax of the Alltel era, Wireless Advantage owned and operated 14 stores in three states. After the 2009 acquisition of ALLTEL by Verizon Wireless; WACI showed its ability to adapt and embrace change by realigning its distribution to meet the needs of VZW and its customers. In 2011 WACI emerged from the transition as one of the fastest growing Verizon Premium Retailers in the Southeast with 22 locations.
