The Rawls family of Washington, North Carolina has owned and operated WIMCO (originally Washington Iron and Metal Company) since its inception in 1950, when it was founded by Clarence Arthur Rawls, Sr. and his brother-in-law, Terry Dickens. Clarence and Terry got into the scrap iron business that eventually turned into a full metal building dealers... hip that included drive piling, erecting steel and installing cofferdams. Continuing their fathers legacy, Clarence Arthur (Artie) Rawls, Jr. and Jeryl Rawls purchased the company from their father in 1972. Washington Iron and Metal Company became the general construction firm, WIMCO Corp, that it is today. Artie Rawls served as president of WIMCO from 1972 until his retirement in the early 2000s. Jeryl Rawls served as CEO until his retirement in 2005. Kevin Rawls, son of Jeryl, is the current President/CEO of WIMCO. Kevin worked his way up in the organization starting in 1997 and served many roles including Superintendent, Project Manager and General Manager before working his way into his current role. Kevin strives to maintain WIMCOs core values include integrity, on-time delivery and quality craftsmanship. These values form the basis of who WIMCO is as a company.
