A 1969 graduate of Harvard University, he holds the advanced insurance designations of Certified Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. He has served as a sales manager for Metropolitan Life as well as Director of Special Marketing for Maine Fidelity Life. Steve was an officer of Fidelity and Guaranty Life Insurance Co., a subsidiary of USF&G (in Baltimore, MD) and National Sales Manager, Employee Benefits (for Lincoln National Life in Fort Wayne, IN.) While at USF&G and Lincoln National, he worked to create first-generation employee benefit programs, including some of the first 401 (k) and Section 125 plans.
