Wilson Welding Company, Inc. has been in business since 1954 and had the first patent to repair the copper electrodes using an automatic weld machine that is still in use today. We were the pioneers in the repair services for copper components relating to the electric arc furnaces in the steel industry. We provide engineering, fabrication and repai... r services to the steel and mining industry. Our shop has fabricated assemblies and equipment for many companies that manufacture arc furnaces, smelters, degassing equipment, ESR, vacuum arc and holding furnaces. Some of Wilson Welding Company pioneering accomplishments included the first patent for the copper holder repairs, first fabricated plate electrode holder, restored the electrode holder contact surface with 98% electrical conductivity and developed the electrode water ring spray system. Our personnel have assisted on many first new developments while employed by the furnace manufacture. One furnace being the largest copper matte smelters in the world that had six 65" diameter electrodes, 36 MVA of power, 35 feet wide, 104 feet long and 8 stories high.
