Westfair Rides

WestFair Rides is creating a network of sustainable, community-based transportation services. Our goal is to promote lifelong safety, independence and mobility through mutually supportive, collaborative relationships with aging in place organizations, town recreation, public transportation, private livery, ParaTransit and other transportation provi... ders and services in our region. In January 2013 the program began providing volunteer rides to older adults in the Sound Shore area of Westchester County. In October 2013 WestFair Rides began service in Northeast Westchester. In 2014, the service area expanded across the southern part of the County. In 2015, we are expanding into the River Towns and plan to expand north along the Hudson River. Our plan is to serve older adults and adults with vision impairments who live in any Westchester County community and the adjoining towns in Fairfield County. As the number of volunteers increases, we will be able to include adults with other physical disabilities. We also are working with homecare providers to develop ways of transporting personal care workers to the northeast corner of Westchester County where there is no public transportation.
