Nick is an active member of the National Weather Association, twice serving a term as councilor, and is the former chair of the organizations Broadcast Committee. He holds the NWA TV Seal of Approval and is an American Meteorological Society Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has recognized Nick as a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador, committed to improving the nation's readiness against extreme weather, water, and climate events. Nick is author of Sing Along with the Weather Dude, a book and CD for children and Dont Get Scared, Just Get Prepared, a CD of weather songs to teach severe weather preparedness. Nick performs his Weather Dude program for school children and families at festivals and science fairs throughout the country.
